In the quest for a fulfilling life, certain thoughts and ideals serve as our guiding lights. These essential thoughts shape our actions, influence our happiness, and help us cultivate a life rich in meaning and joy. Here are five of my 5am thoughts that have profoundly impacted my daily existence and overall well-being in 2024. While 2024 was a "what is going to happen next" year for me filled with so many challenges and lots of disappointments, my take-a-way are these ideas swimming around in my head (at 5am.)


I don't care who said money can't buy you happiness, I disagree, money buys peace of mind. Work hard, do the right thing and reward yourself, it's ok. The thought of having adequate resources—whether financial, emotional, or physical—forms the foundation of a stable and productive life. This doesn’t mean merely accumulating wealth; instead, it encompasses having access to the essentials that allow us to thrive. It’s about recognizing the importance of financial security, quality experiences and supportive relationships. By fostering a mindset that prioritizes resourcefulness and gratitude for what we have, we can create a more fulfilling and secure life.


Maintaining a fit and energetic body is essential for living life to the fullest. Prioritizing health can lead to making better lifestyle choices, such as regular exercise and balanced nutrition. It’s not solely about physical appearance; it’s about feeling strong, capable, and alive. Embracing this thought encourages us to listen to our bodies and engage in activities that elevate our energy levels and overall well-being. Challenge yourself daily - get up early, go outside, take a walk, do yoga, meditate, ride a bike, dance, feel the sun and smell the air - it's all crucial.


With the chaos of daily life, cultivating a calm and peaceful mind is important. This thought encourages mindfulness and the practice of mental wellness techniques such as meditation and deep breathing. By nurturing a peaceful mindset, we can better manage stress, respond to challenges with clarity, and foster a sense of inner tranquility. This thought reminds us that our mental state significantly influences our quality of life and relationships with others. Talk! Talk to a friend if something feels off, talk to a therapist, don't bottle up feelings. If you're unhappy about something but don't express it, your family won't understand (they're not mind readers!) Just learn to communicate.


So important! A home filled with love is one of the most comforting thoughts we can hold. It encompasses the people we surround ourselves with, the atmosphere we create, and the relationships we nurture. This thought inspires us to build connections, share kindness, and prioritize our loved ones. A loving home acts as a sanctuary where we can express ourselves freely, find support, and experience the joys of companionship or leaning into the peace and quiet of living alone, making it an essential thought for a happy life. (Buy plants and grow a garden!)


Having a spiritual life fosters a sense of purpose and connection to something greater than ourselves. Whether through organized religion, personal beliefs, or a deep appreciation for nature, spirituality can provide comfort and guidance. Coupled with the thought of enjoying sunlight, it reminds us of the importance of spending time outdoors, connecting with nature, and finding joy in the simple things. This connection nurtures our spirit and enhances our appreciation for life’s beauty.


These are my 5am thoughts on the five

essential things everyone should think about —adequate resources, a fit and energetic body, a calm mind, a loving home, and a spiritual connection—create a foundation for a fulfilling life. By embracing these ideas, we can cultivate a deeper understanding of ourselves and the world around us. They guide our actions, shape our relationships, and ultimately lead us to a life rich in joy and purpose. Reflect on these thoughts and consider how they influence your daily life; they may just be the key to unlocking a more meaningful existence.


And don't forget the benefits of all natural bath and body products which play a vital role in promoting not only personal health but environmental sustainability. Oh and having a dog or cat is a must do! Adopt one at your local shelter, you'll be amazed at their loyalty and unconditional love - they'll also get you out of a funk, out of the house and on walking trails!
